Delegate for Religious

The Delegate for Religious is the official representative to and liaison with the non-clerical religious of the Archdiocese. It is an office that facilitates communication between religious communities and the Archbishop of Detroit.

This office brings to the Archbishop and other Church leaders the needs, concerns, hopes of non-clerical religious as well as:

  • Plans, facilitates annual meetings between the Archbishop and Major Superiors.
  • Encourages intercommunity cooperation and planning among the various congregations.
  • Acts as liaison facilitating collaboration among the various religious institutes.
  • Maintains contact with the religious via database, address changes, ministry changes, newsletter, bulletins, etc.
  • Offers canonical consultation to individuals and congregations.
  • Offers consultation on personal/religious life/ministry planning matters.
  • Visits Motherhouses, Priories, Monasteries, Convents, etc. upon request.
  • Represents the Archbishop of Detroit at the national and regional Conferences: NCVR, LCWR, CMSM, CMSWR and NARB.
  • Acts as a resource for religious life.
